Ich hoffe es geht euch auch gut.
2020 – 2021
There was fighting, celebrating, and loving. I investigated the past of my family to find the unexpected. It is an attempt to connect the familiar and the strange. The images help me construct a memory, but they only show a small section of a whole life that has ended. They are the contemporary witnesses that take on a new meaning, even years later.
The past is translated into the present: The longings of the people in the pictures are transformed into the longings of the viewers. It's not so much about what happened in my family, but to what extent the stories of everyone can be recognized in them. The question arises as to which records from personal archives will remain relevant.
